What a great blog! I love the topic, and I am honored that you have listed my website and my Living Single blog on your site.

I totally appreciate your take on the joys of solo meals. I, too, love making great meals, or beautiful meals, or simple things.

Yummy! I have the same patio table but obviously different tiles since they didn't come with it.
Just found your blog from the comment you left on Hobo Stripper. Looking forward to reading your future posts.

YES! it actually took quite a long time and he became really obnoxious -- i haven't decided yet if the saga is interesting enough to make it the subject of a future post... the short and sweet version is that when it became clear that he wasn't capable of being Just Friends - he doesn't understand boundaries at all - i ended up telling him very clearly, very directly, in writing not to contact me anymore in any way and he kept doing so for months with these very needy emails... and when i didn't respond to his emails, he tried texting me and when i didn't respond to those he would drive by my work. i considered going to the police with a stalking issue but as i understand it, a restraining order is just a silly piece of paper and there's nothing other than that that the cops can or will do until there's a 911 call. i also think he's just needy, not violent, so i wasn't too worried. the last contact i had from him was in june when he emailed to make sure i knew he hadn't forgotten my six-month birthday. what, you ask, is a six month birthday? it's half way to my actual birthday, otherwise known as a ridiculous excuse to contact me. that email included the lyrics, in their entirety, of a joni mitchell song, the refrain of which is something like, "will you take me as i am? will you take me? will you? will you? will you take me as i am?" as always, i kept a copy of the email in case i do need it for the police, and just didn't reply. surely he'll eventually get bored with this?
